Salisbury University President Carolyn Lepre announced in an email yesterday that Dr. Dane Foust, the vice president of student affairs and auxiliary services, will be retiring at the end of the academic year.

Dr. Foust joined SU in 2006 as the associate vice president of student affairs, before getting his current vice president position in March, 2012.

He was selected for the Leadership Maryland Class of 2011, and has worked with the Village of Hope and Shore Leadership off campus.

Lepre also attributes Foust as having a significant role in dining and housing services in her announcement. She also said he played a pivotal role in the development of the Sea Gull Square apartment complex on campus, which opened in 2011.

"Beyond his many achievements, Dr. Foust has been a trusted mentor, a compassionate advocate, and a respected colleague," Lepre said. "His leadership, wisdom, and deep commitment to SU’s mission have enriched our university in immeasurable ways.

"While we will miss his presence on campus, we take comfort in knowing that his contributions will have a lasting impact on generations of Sea Gulls to come."
