Salisbury University’s next president: Dr. Carolyn Ringer Lepre


Today University System of Maryland of Maryland Regents announced Salisbury University's tenth president, Dr. Carolyn Ringer Lepre, will take office July 15.


Lepre was Radford University’s interim president since July 2021. She previously served as the university’s provost and vice president of academic affairs.


Lepre established an Academic Success Center, School of Nursing, Center of Opportunity and Social Mobility, along with partnerships and programs to put students on the fast track for success at Radford, according to an email from the president’s office.


Lepre formerly served as dean of Marist College’s School of Communication and the Arts and the university’s honors program.


Lepre earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and journalism from Miami University and a Ph.D. in mass communication from University of Florida, according to USMD’s website.
