
SU's Student Government Association held its monthly forum today in the Perdue School of Business at 4:30 p.m.
Riley Bozman, the director of campus enhancement, announced the SGA's off-campus housing fair has been rescheduled for March 11 and will be held at the Wicomico Room in the Guerrieri Student Union from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
"All the landlords in the local area will be there. They all have said to me they do have open space available if you're in need of housing for the fall and a yearly lease," Bozman said.
Director of Finance and Appropriations Jahnaiya Sutherland announced the last date for registered student organizations to submit a travel request for funding is April 15. She explains that this includes student clubs that want to travel in the summer and the first month of the fall 2025 semester.
"If you're trying to travel in August, your date is still April 15.... If you're trying to travel in September as well, that is also the same day," Sutherland said.
She also announced the budget for operational organizations will be due by March 28.
Upcoming events on campus presented at forum:
There are three upcoming dates dedicated to admitted student day involvement fairs. They will be held March 8, March 29 and April 12 and all three dates will be hosted in the Maggs Physical Activity Center on campus from noon to 2:30 p.m.
SU's Giving Day, which allows registered student organizations to raise money for their clubs, is April 1 this semester. Every donation will be matched by the university up to $50 with a maximum of $750 for each student organization.
Project KISS's Rubber Runaway event will be held at the Holloway Hall Auditorium on April 1 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event is to promote the awareness of HIV/AIDS and safe sex.
The Take Back the Night program will be held at the Wicomico Room in the GSU on April 3 at 6 p.m. The purpose is to increase the awareness and prevention of sexual violence.
SOAP will be hosting Waka Flocka Flame and Travis Porter at the Wicomico Civic Center on March 29 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 with fees.
I Love Salisbury is an event on April 5 where student organizations can offer planting, mulching and weeding services in the Salisbury community. Check-in for clubs start at 9 a.m. at the square outside the Guerrieri Academic Commons and is expected to end by noon.
