An armed robbery at The Shore Bank on US Rt. 13 and Milford St. occurred this morning, causing a university wide alert to go into effect.

At 10:28 am, an SU alert text was sent out telling students to be on alert. Campus emails were sent out giving more information including the location of the robbery, a description of the suspect and the location they fled towards.

The suspect was described by police as blonde, white woman wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. She was seen fleeing towards University Park where Salisbury Police followed.

A portion of the UP parking lot was blocked by police, keeping residents from entering their apartments.
Community Manager Matt Sessa told the residents to stay put until the situation was resolved.

“Police are saying that the suspect left in a car and left,” Sessa said. “But please refrain from entering the buildings until the police give an all clear”

An all clear was issued shortly after, with university text messages and emails being sent out saying that the community may resume their normal activities.

The incident is still under investigation, and police are still searching for the suspect. People with any information regarding the case are encouraged to contact Salisbury University Police at 410-543-6222 or Salisbury Police Department at 410-548-3165.
