Apple Rose Puff Pastries Recipe

Even if you love to bake, it’s not easy to make gourmet desserts regularly in college.

But these delicious, esthetically pleasing Apple Rose Puff Pastries are an easy treat that will be sure to please your friends, family members or significant other.

These roses can be indulged for breakfast alongside your coffee or for dessert with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and whipped cream.



  • 2 gala apples
  • 2 sheets of puff pastries, thawed
  • 4 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons of melted butter
  • ½ juiced lemon, or 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon of cinnamon

  1. Remove the puff pastries from the freezer and thaw them according to package instructions.

  3. With the skin on, cut the apples into very thin slices, then place them in a medium sized bowl halfway filled with water. Add the lemon juice.
  4. Place the sliced apples in the water and microwave them for five minutes until they are slightly tender. Leave them in the bowl and set it aside.

    When the pastries are thawed, sprinkle the flour on a flat surface for rolling the pastries with a rolling pin (Note: if you don’t have a rolling pin, use a cylindrical water glass, or smooth edged cylindrical water bottle). Cut each pastry into six equal slices.

  2. Mix the melted butter, cinnamon and brown sugar to form a paste for the filling. Spoon the brown sugar mixture on

    to each slice of pastry.

  1. Overlap the apple slices over each other along one half of the pastry slice with the peel side facing out.
  2. Fold the pastry in half to cover the apples.
  3. Roll the pastry and apples from one end of the pastry to the other. Then individually place in an ungreased muffin tin.
  4. Repeat with the other pieces of pastries until you have 12 apple roses

  5. Place a pan of water on the bottom rack of the oven so the bottoms of pastries do not burn. Bake at 375 degrees for 40-45 minutes.
