A deer crashed through Salisbury University’s Guerrieri University Center late Monday afternoon.
The animal broke through a window located by the ping pong tables and proceeded to race around fireside lounge. The deer knocked over lamps and left blood trails on the carpets, windows and curtains before it crashed through a different window and left the building.
Shortly after, the deer was spotted limping towards Perdue Hall and students witnessed it being shot and killed by Salisbury Campus Police near the Sammy Seagull statue. One shot was fired, and no one has been reported injured.
According to a Campus Police press release, a campus police officer euthanized the animal due to the injuries it had sustained.
Campus Police closed part of the building for safety reasons, while staff cleared out the broken glass and other damages.
