Salisbury University alumnus, Dan Quinn will make his NFL head coaching debut with the Atlanta Falcons against the Philadelphia Eagles on ESPN at 6:55 p.m. tonight.

Quinn was formerly the defensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks for the last two years. At Seattle, his team boasted one of the league’s top defenses under his reign as defensive coordinator. Quinn also won Super Bowl XLVIII.

Quinn attended SU from 1990 to 1994 playing football and track and field for the Sea Gulls.

The new Falcons head coach has coached his fair share of collegiate and professional teams including: the College of William and Mary, Virginia Military Institute, Hofstra University, University of Florida, San Francisco 49ers, Miami Dolphins, New York Jets and Seattle Seahawks.

Tonight, Quinn will look to turn around a Falcons team that had the league’s worst defense and finished 6-10 last year.
